The dogs and I venture upon this child's special hide-out occasionally on one of our morning walks. While it doesn't really look used, I believe it still is, because with each passing, the chairs change locations, and trinkets and toys come and go.
When I see it, it takes me immediately back to my own time of youth and innocence. I loved the woods even when I was little.
Such freedom and serenity with the cool breeze, rattling leaves, chirps, and occasional shuffling of the underbrush as the chipmunks and squirrels scampered away.
And almost nothing more thrilling than uncovering crawdads and salamandors in the trickling streams or finding that perfect flower.
I think I was meant to have these two dogs in my life at this moment. Otherwise I would miss this...and the flashback to the day when there was nothing ahead but dreams.
