Vintage Family Photos and Scrapbook Pages

If you remember, when my sister was here for Thanksgiving, she helped rekindle my energy for working on my Mum's scrapbook.  My lack of focus for this project wasn't on a lack of follow-through but rather a fear of failing to produce something beautiful.  It was so much easier and quicker to complete my Dad's...I think MAYBE because he wasn't going to scrutinize it (he was already gone.)  But my Mum, she's still here, and that VOICE in my head that always challenged me to do better, be better, be perfect, etc...just still chimes on EVEN though I'm almost 50.!  I guess the convictions of a mother never fade.

Yikes.  I'm a mum.  I wonder what damage I've done.

Well. Enough of that.

Now that I've shared much too much information, above is another page in her scrapbook...for which I am quite happy and satisfied.  Let's just hope, for the sake of my psyche, she does too!

Lots of little elements on this page, but let's just start with the ribbon.  You know, I've said it before, but that multi-colored Summer Sprinkles ribbon, from the Seasons Bundle, has to be one of my all time favorite ribbons.

I added a flick of color here and there on the DSP (it's from a discontinued SU DSP pack), added the vintage brads, and punched the label for Mum to add her own thoughts.

Oh...and I love that tractor, don't you?  I mean, even if you aren't a country girl (and I'm not...living in the burbs of a northeastern city), it still has such charm!   It's from a Stampin Up! set that I recently purchased when they had their never before discount.

Lastly, that little multicolored giggle sentiment is from a Unity stamp set called, "Le Chic"

It was fun looking through all her photos.  So many of them feature her with her two closest sisters, Charlcie (pronounced Charle-C), and Chestine (who goes by Tina).

I'll be pushing through the rest of this in time to come.  You'll probably get tired of seeing my southern family history! (But I hope not)

Now, Go make yourself PROUD and create something LOVELY!

Inspirational Unity Blog Hop

I have three huge passions related to art: photography, jewelry making, and paper crafts. Above combines two of those passions: jewelry making and paper crafts. The necklace featured is a gift for a friend. I used Unity Stamp Company stamps in all the projects shown in the picture above. If you look closely, you'll even see that I used the Hawaiian Border and the swirls in the lambs fleece of Love Ewe to make the bronze charms in the jewelry above! Besides the stamps used, other materials included Bronz Clay, antiqued bronze findings, and various beads. Of course, what gift isn't complete without packaging? You can find the tutorial for the bag Here . Paper and cardstock, punches, and ribbon used are from Stampin Up! while the stamp used is from Unity's March Kit of the Month . People who know me know how I strive to use humor everyday...and especially to make light of otherwise stressful situations. So, my quote for the day has absolutely nothing to do with my project. Unity Blog Hop

My project today is a little mini album I put together to give to my daughter, who is exploring the possibility of traveling across America from Washington State to Delaware in July. I wanted to give her something to log and journal her adventures! I used stamps from Unity Stamp Company's June and November Kits of the Month for the cover. Inside the cover, I put a little note. She plans to hitch hike which is extremely bothersome to me. I want her to be safe! Maybe I'll suggest flying out and renting a car and doing a rode trip with her! That would curb my fears and will also be fun! The journal block comes from their September Kit . Unity Stamp Company is featuring a sale on their previous Kits! This is the time to get them if you don't have ENOUGH! See their sales here: Sales at Unity The inside pages were not made with a KOM stamp, but this stamp is cool all the same. I love this flower . It's big and has many uses! To start at the beginning of the blog hop, ...
