You're the Best

Just wanted to pop in quickly and show you a card that I made using one of my fun new buttons from Pinque Peacock.  I knew I would LOVE using these Farm Fresh buttons when I first saw them.

I thought I would start the month off right with a bright and joyfully colored card of thanks, realizing my color choices are totally out of season!

I have all but abandoned this blog over the last month due to work and life craziness.  I finally put down the keyboard (I work in the IT industry) and decided to take some time to let my inner artist free.

So, last weekend, I took a Clay Monoprinting workshop at a local artist's studio and LOVED it.  I knew I would, because I took the same workshop a couple years ago, except I took the one day version.  Mitch is truly an inspiring artist.  And so helpful.  He's very eager and willing to spread what he knows on to others.  He isn't having another workshop in my area until next year, but I just know I will most likely sign up again!

Below is one of the prints I finished.  In comparison to the last workshop, the prints I did this time are so much more fun.  Now, I have to figure out what I can do to make this a regular thing!  But I have no space left for any more art supplies! [I know I am not alone, right?!]

Anyway, I hope you have a great weekend.  My husband is doing the New York Marathon, so we're off to the big city for a little fun!

Inspirational Unity Blog Hop

I have three huge passions related to art: photography, jewelry making, and paper crafts. Above combines two of those passions: jewelry making and paper crafts. The necklace featured is a gift for a friend. I used Unity Stamp Company stamps in all the projects shown in the picture above. If you look closely, you'll even see that I used the Hawaiian Border and the swirls in the lambs fleece of Love Ewe to make the bronze charms in the jewelry above! Besides the stamps used, other materials included Bronz Clay, antiqued bronze findings, and various beads. Of course, what gift isn't complete without packaging? You can find the tutorial for the bag Here . Paper and cardstock, punches, and ribbon used are from Stampin Up! while the stamp used is from Unity's March Kit of the Month . People who know me know how I strive to use humor everyday...and especially to make light of otherwise stressful situations. So, my quote for the day has absolutely nothing to do with my project. Unity Blog Hop

My project today is a little mini album I put together to give to my daughter, who is exploring the possibility of traveling across America from Washington State to Delaware in July. I wanted to give her something to log and journal her adventures! I used stamps from Unity Stamp Company's June and November Kits of the Month for the cover. Inside the cover, I put a little note. She plans to hitch hike which is extremely bothersome to me. I want her to be safe! Maybe I'll suggest flying out and renting a car and doing a rode trip with her! That would curb my fears and will also be fun! The journal block comes from their September Kit . Unity Stamp Company is featuring a sale on their previous Kits! This is the time to get them if you don't have ENOUGH! See their sales here: Sales at Unity The inside pages were not made with a KOM stamp, but this stamp is cool all the same. I love this flower . It's big and has many uses! To start at the beginning of the blog hop, ...
