Valentines Day

Dave and I had a really nice Valentine's Day this year. Since it was on a Saturday, that meant that we were able to take it easy all day, without scurrying around. I worked a little in the basement and then came upstairs to make his card.

Then later, we went to have dinner at this little jazz restaurant in town, The Wedge. The food is great and the atmosphere is so nice and romantic. The two pictures below were taken after we finished dinner. The first, I took. And then this fella from another table came over and took a second (and third, fourth, and fifth!). Poor Dave, is so incredibly uncomfortable in front of a camera!

The above is the one I took. I'm wearing the necklace and earrings he gave me!

The above is the best one that the fella took. In most of the other ones, either I had my eyes closed or Dave looked frightened!

Here is the card I gave Dave. I made it 3D encased in some recycled packaging. Dave's favorite color is green, so besides making it look "fresh", I also wanted to include his favorite color. And I really like deep rich pinks. He liked it. And I meant it.

I really love him. Looking into his eyes still makes my heart patter.

ah! that was super sweet:)i love the card. you always do a great job with sponges. are the stamps stampin up? great way to use green without it being overpowering and "super green".
our v-day was low key. we went out to a nice dinner or friday night to avoid the crowds. i made ben chicken parmesan for dinner last night and then we watched a movie. I started feeling sick (sore throat) yesterday. and now it's developed into something nasty. my throat is on fire. ick. i've been sick so much this year.
ben is brewing beer today and i am laying low:)
You guys look so cute together. Looks like you had fun. We did b-day parties all day and then my daughter got sick so I spent the night with her. Not very romantic but we where still together :) I really like your card too. It's super cute! TFS it with us. Looking forward to more post. Take care!

Warm Little Sweetness

I must admit that I have become quite fond of making little bitty sweaters.   It all started on a recent trek to India traveling for business. I needed to carry just enough yarn to keep my busy bee hands occupied during the evenings in my hotel room. There are just so many hats a person can make, right?  Anyway, having limited quantities of yarn, I decided to give a small sweater a go.  This is the first one I created. I had just the perfect little buttons to add! (It really is amazing what one might find in their cosmetic bag) I love it.  This sweater is also featured on the Pinque Peacock blog   since I used her buttons.  (Go visit and see the buttons up close) This makes the sweater a really one of a kind project! This next one is perfect for a little preemie.  It's so tiny, but features a great big snowflake! Close up of the snowflake…. I also sewed on one of the StampinUp! Frosted Finishes Embellishments.  I think it finished it off nice

Inspirational Unity Blog Hop

I have three huge passions related to art: photography, jewelry making, and paper crafts. Above combines two of those passions: jewelry making and paper crafts. The necklace featured is a gift for a friend. I used Unity Stamp Company stamps in all the projects shown in the picture above. If you look closely, you'll even see that I used the Hawaiian Border and the swirls in the lambs fleece of Love Ewe to make the bronze charms in the jewelry above! Besides the stamps used, other materials included Bronz Clay, antiqued bronze findings, and various beads. Of course, what gift isn't complete without packaging? You can find the tutorial for the bag Here . Paper and cardstock, punches, and ribbon used are from Stampin Up! while the stamp used is from Unity's March Kit of the Month . People who know me know how I strive to use humor everyday...and especially to make light of otherwise stressful situations. So, my quote for the day has absolutely nothing to do with my project. I
