Be Strong

I decided to take a bit of a break on the Halloween treat packages (I was eating way WAY too much chocolate), and instead make a card on the feminine side.  Also, it's Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I hadn't yet made any cards.

I wanted my card to focus on strength and hope and courage.  And I found a good stamp set for that.

The sentiment is from a Unity / Donna Downey stamp set, "Empowered Words".  I think all the stamps in this set are very uplifting!

The ribbon is from 3GirlJam and is a special holiday edition, "Seasons Bundle".  I really like the swirls of different colors.

At the top corner, I tied a bow and then made a little ribbon rose, backing it with a bit of brown/white twine, and popping a little pearl in the center.

Here's a close-up of the ribbon rose at the top:

I'm linking this up with the Paper Issue challenge, "Believe in Yourself".  I think it fits, don't you?

Until Next Time!

Warm Little Sweetness

I must admit that I have become quite fond of making little bitty sweaters.   It all started on a recent trek to India traveling for business. I needed to carry just enough yarn to keep my busy bee hands occupied during the evenings in my hotel room. There are just so many hats a person can make, right?  Anyway, having limited quantities of yarn, I decided to give a small sweater a go.  This is the first one I created. I had just the perfect little buttons to add! (It really is amazing what one might find in their cosmetic bag) I love it.  This sweater is also featured on the Pinque Peacock blog   since I used her buttons.  (Go visit and see the buttons up close) This makes the sweater a really one of a kind project! This next one is perfect for a little preemie.  It's so tiny, but features a great big snowflake! Close up of the snowflake…. I also sewed on one of the StampinUp! Frosted Finishes Embellishments.  I think it finished it off nice

Baker John

Totally scrumptious, this bread. John is home from college right now and in-between hours of aimless gaming, he must be thinking of good food. He trolled my cookbook case and pulled a very old Italian bread cookbook out and VOILA....filled our house with the wonderful aroma of rosemary. His first loaf.

Big Birthday Celebration

Are you here having fun hopping along with 3GirlJAM in celebration of Julie's sister's big birthday year?  What a great little cyber party we're having!  (she's really a young thing, but she's having a great year) Well, if not, you should be hopping along (I'll tell you why in a moment). There are some really wonderful birthday ideas from all of us on the design team...and including Julie's two girls, who are also having fun celebrating their aunt's birthday. If you need to go back to the beginning, head over to the 3GirlJAM blog to get started.  Otherwise.... Here's my card in celebration her special year! I used blue crinkle ribbon from the newly released  Red,White,Blue Bundle.   It's such a nice shade of blue!  The white has bits of the red and blue in it (and I love the ribbon when it's like that)...and the red is also pretty awesome...like marachino cherries.  The little button in the center is from Pinque Peacock (l
