Girly Girl and Her Little Mate!

Hi Everyone.

I've been a little quiet lately, because work is driving me nuts.  I come home from a nice wonderful vacation, only to double time it to the next deadline!

But hey, in my downtime, I'm here, sitting at my craft table, surrounded by my bestest and furriest buds, creating!

Today is another great challenge over at 3 Girl Jam!

The challenge is being sponsored by Saturated Canary.
Chances to Win

Yes!  You read that correctly....So, you will definitely want to participate!

My little project has a story.

It's been a long time since I had a little girl.  And I had a girly girl.  All pink and lace and glitter.

But no more.  She's all grown up and even more spectacular...Here's a couple recent pictures of her over our vacation.  She makes me smile.  What a free and lovely spirit.  With such passion and goals for a free world.  I admire that in her.

Oh, but back to my story!  (I was day dreaming about vacation...sorry)
As I said, she was such a girly girl and when I saw THIS digital stamp from Saturated Canary, I knew I had to make something with it.

You see, it is not only the sweetest girl all dressed up, but she dressed up her little friend too.

This is exactly what my daughter did when she was little.  It drove our dogs, Bonnie, Clyde, and Shara absolutely bonkers.  Clyde, our most gentle pooch, endured it, because he just loved the attention.  She would dress up in her little Sunday dresses, white socks with fun lace, little black shiny shoes and twirl, dance, and sing...all the while making our dogs participate!

Another of her favorite activities was coloring.  So, I combined my memories and created the little note book.    Sigh.  But isn't it pretty?

Quick and Easy Pocket Book Tutorial

(1) Go find yourself a great cover image!
(2) Consider your color scheme and gather up your favorite papers, texture, embellishments, and FUN!
(3) Color the image!

(4) Cut your card stock at 5.5" x 8.5"
(5) Cut the internal papers at 5.25" x 8.25"
(6) Score both in 1/2.
(7) Finish decorating the front of your book-to-be!
(8) Insert the internal papers into the book.  Measure the center at the binding (you'll be threading ribbon to bind the book)
(9) Find yourself some coordinating Crinkle Ribbon for the binding.
(10) Punch holes, thread the ribbon and tie.  The following pictures give you an idea on how I bound the book.

Oh, she is so sweet! And your project is cute too! ;-) I have photographic evidence that my daughter (who is also grown up) used to torture...um, I mean dress up the dogs too! I think I'll go print one of those pics off and make a quick card to send!

Inspirational Unity Blog Hop

I have three huge passions related to art: photography, jewelry making, and paper crafts. Above combines two of those passions: jewelry making and paper crafts. The necklace featured is a gift for a friend. I used Unity Stamp Company stamps in all the projects shown in the picture above. If you look closely, you'll even see that I used the Hawaiian Border and the swirls in the lambs fleece of Love Ewe to make the bronze charms in the jewelry above! Besides the stamps used, other materials included Bronz Clay, antiqued bronze findings, and various beads. Of course, what gift isn't complete without packaging? You can find the tutorial for the bag Here . Paper and cardstock, punches, and ribbon used are from Stampin Up! while the stamp used is from Unity's March Kit of the Month . People who know me know how I strive to use humor everyday...and especially to make light of otherwise stressful situations. So, my quote for the day has absolutely nothing to do with my project. I

Unity Blog Hop

My project today is a little mini album I put together to give to my daughter, who is exploring the possibility of traveling across America from Washington State to Delaware in July. I wanted to give her something to log and journal her adventures! I used stamps from Unity Stamp Company's June and November Kits of the Month for the cover. Inside the cover, I put a little note. She plans to hitch hike which is extremely bothersome to me. I want her to be safe! Maybe I'll suggest flying out and renting a car and doing a rode trip with her! That would curb my fears and will also be fun! The journal block comes from their September Kit . Unity Stamp Company is featuring a sale on their previous Kits! This is the time to get them if you don't have ENOUGH! See their sales here: Sales at Unity The inside pages were not made with a KOM stamp, but this stamp is cool all the same. I love this flower . It's big and has many uses! To start at the beginning of the blog hop,
