Friendship ... Aged to Perfection

If you are visiting for the Unity KOM Blog Hop, please scroll down!

I created this card for Vivian's "It's Cocktail Hour Somewhere" swap. I just can't seem to get away from pink inspired cards!

Looking closely, you can see that I paper pieced almost the entire image. I thought it would be faster than coloring...HA! But hey, I had fun and LOVE paper piecing, so it was time well spent. There is something almost hypnotic about focusing on the details.

I must mention that with this card, I now realize that bifocals are now required 100% of the time.

I have now entered the geezer era of my life! Totally sad, considering my heart and spirit feel relatively young.

Gorgeous! Love the paper piecing! I'm still resisting bifocals. I figure I can go another year if I only work with gigantic images and do no cutting!;)

Hey, have you had trouble getting SCS to open for the past couple of days? I can't get on this morning, and I couldn't get on yesterday morning either. Did I miss an update notice or something?

What an adorable card! (I may have to buy that set - I think that image would be perfect for my friend's upcoming b-day!) The paper piecing was worth it - too cute!

Baker John

Totally scrumptious, this bread. John is home from college right now and in-between hours of aimless gaming, he must be thinking of good food. He trolled my cookbook case and pulled a very old Italian bread cookbook out and VOILA....filled our house with the wonderful aroma of rosemary. His first loaf.

Big Birthday Celebration

Are you here having fun hopping along with 3GirlJAM in celebration of Julie's sister's big birthday year?  What a great little cyber party we're having!  (she's really a young thing, but she's having a great year) Well, if not, you should be hopping along (I'll tell you why in a moment). There are some really wonderful birthday ideas from all of us on the design team...and including Julie's two girls, who are also having fun celebrating their aunt's birthday. If you need to go back to the beginning, head over to the 3GirlJAM blog to get started.  Otherwise.... Here's my card in celebration her special year! I used blue crinkle ribbon from the newly released  Red,White,Blue Bundle.   It's such a nice shade of blue!  The white has bits of the red and blue in it (and I love the ribbon when it's like that)...and the red is also pretty awesome...like marachino cherries.  The little button in the center is from Pinque Peacock (l

Stylish Gift Bag

Today I have the above project featured over on the Pinque Peacock blog.   (go visit!) I love how it turned out.  It is a relatively simple design, but is sturdy and large enough to hold a nice size gift.  I put handmade soaps in it and I don't think it will have any trouble holding up under the weight! Anyway, hope you like it!  Let me know if you'd like a tutorial and I'll get my busy little hands to work! In the meantime, enjoy your holiday.  We are supposed to have some pretty heavy storms, but today, so far, it is nice enough (SUPER hot and humid, but very few clouds).
