With Friends

I spent Saturday with my friends Nina and Heather. I hadn't seen them in awhile and it was so much fun spending the day with both of them. I worked with the two of them on my last major project. Both Nina and Heather are partners in a local consulting firm, specializing in business process modeling.

It's so much fun spending time with them because it is always a unique and fun experience coupled with lots of laughter...and...lots of great food.

We met up at Heather's house and from there scooted over with our bikes to St. George's where we set out to bike to Chesapeake City. We ate lunch at Bayard House in Chesapeake City and enjoyed the view.

At one point during lunch, I was venting about my frustrations with trying to find a pair of jeans that fit. I went shopping for a bit on Thursday but couldn't find anything that fit both my waiste AND my legs. Being athletic, I tend to have big legs, but now that I've put on a little more weight (and I carry a bulk of it below the waist in my legs), I really have a rough time finding jeans.

Anyway, Heather suggested I shop at a store in town, because "they tend to carry clothes built to fit the strong and stable German woman" (Quote by Heather, who, by the way, is of Germanic decent).

Okay, so I'm not German...

Her remark to that...."Well, try it there anyway. Maybe your legs have migrated to Germany".

To which we all had a good laugh.

After lunch, we hopped back on our bikes and headed back towards St. George's.

At Heather's house, besides teasing her husband (who is too cool to remove his sunglasses inside), we sewed.

I started the purse below, but didn't finish it until really late on Satursday night.

I might have to make another one of these!

So my legs come from the German side! LOL I'm half and half/German and Belgian! Although I think Belgian's tend to be strong and stable too!! HA!
What a fun day that had to have been...and a fab purse to top it off!!

Warm Little Sweetness

I must admit that I have become quite fond of making little bitty sweaters.   It all started on a recent trek to India traveling for business. I needed to carry just enough yarn to keep my busy bee hands occupied during the evenings in my hotel room. There are just so many hats a person can make, right?  Anyway, having limited quantities of yarn, I decided to give a small sweater a go.  This is the first one I created. I had just the perfect little buttons to add! (It really is amazing what one might find in their cosmetic bag) I love it.  This sweater is also featured on the Pinque Peacock blog   since I used her buttons.  (Go visit and see the buttons up close) This makes the sweater a really one of a kind project! This next one is perfect for a little preemie.  It's so tiny, but features a great big snowflake! Close up of the snowflake…. I also sewed on one of the StampinUp! Frosted Finishes Embellishments.  I think it finished it off nice

Baker John

Totally scrumptious, this bread. John is home from college right now and in-between hours of aimless gaming, he must be thinking of good food. He trolled my cookbook case and pulled a very old Italian bread cookbook out and VOILA....filled our house with the wonderful aroma of rosemary. His first loaf.

Big Birthday Celebration

Are you here having fun hopping along with 3GirlJAM in celebration of Julie's sister's big birthday year?  What a great little cyber party we're having!  (she's really a young thing, but she's having a great year) Well, if not, you should be hopping along (I'll tell you why in a moment). There are some really wonderful birthday ideas from all of us on the design team...and including Julie's two girls, who are also having fun celebrating their aunt's birthday. If you need to go back to the beginning, head over to the 3GirlJAM blog to get started.  Otherwise.... Here's my card in celebration her special year! I used blue crinkle ribbon from the newly released  Red,White,Blue Bundle.   It's such a nice shade of blue!  The white has bits of the red and blue in it (and I love the ribbon when it's like that)...and the red is also pretty awesome...like marachino cherries.  The little button in the center is from Pinque Peacock (l
