Precious Sweet Clyde

Clyde-E-Us Minimus
1994 - 2011

We lost Clyde this morning at 4:30 am.  He died peacefully at home.

On Tuesday, he really wasn't doing so well, but I had to go into work and was so worried that he would die alone.  I felt so sick at heart.  He stuck around.  I think to say his goodbye's.  He waited until I came home and stuck with me that evening.  That was our time.  Normally he fiddled around, underfoot, begging for scraps while I cooked.  This night, he couldn't because he was too weak, so he laid next to me while I crafted.

And then at about 4:15 AM this morning, just a little before Dave normally got up with him to start the morning routine, Clyde started shifting around.  Dave went downstairs with him.  I think Clyde was waiting to say goodbye to Dave, because that was their special time.

And that is when he was ready to let go.

This is a picture of him at Christmas in 2007 when he was about 13 years old.  What a pensive look.  Goodness only knows what he was thinking...or what he had just gotten into.

I am really going to miss him.  He was a part of my life for so very long.  He was such a great little companion and oh, so sweet.  He was cautious, obedient,  and gentle.  He loved attention and understood that his adorable nature drew strangers near.  For them, he would would just sit down and wait patiently, until they were satisfied petting him.  He loved going on rides and would twirl and bark with delight whenever I mentioned it.  He enjoyed everything from shopping to rock climing and camping...especially enjoying walks in nearby White Clay Creek.  Although he wasn't so keen on dress-up...he tolerated it, because he knew it was fun for Candace and her friends.

He just wanted to be nearby...always.

So, here's to you, Clyde.  I am so lucky to have shared so many years having fun with you.  You will hold a sacred place in my heart forever, my furry friend.  I'll see you in time, I'm sure, but until then, may you frolic with the angels.

Inspirational Unity Blog Hop

I have three huge passions related to art: photography, jewelry making, and paper crafts. Above combines two of those passions: jewelry making and paper crafts. The necklace featured is a gift for a friend. I used Unity Stamp Company stamps in all the projects shown in the picture above. If you look closely, you'll even see that I used the Hawaiian Border and the swirls in the lambs fleece of Love Ewe to make the bronze charms in the jewelry above! Besides the stamps used, other materials included Bronz Clay, antiqued bronze findings, and various beads. Of course, what gift isn't complete without packaging? You can find the tutorial for the bag Here . Paper and cardstock, punches, and ribbon used are from Stampin Up! while the stamp used is from Unity's March Kit of the Month . People who know me know how I strive to use humor everyday...and especially to make light of otherwise stressful situations. So, my quote for the day has absolutely nothing to do with my project. I...

Unity Blog Hop

My project today is a little mini album I put together to give to my daughter, who is exploring the possibility of traveling across America from Washington State to Delaware in July. I wanted to give her something to log and journal her adventures! I used stamps from Unity Stamp Company's June and November Kits of the Month for the cover. Inside the cover, I put a little note. She plans to hitch hike which is extremely bothersome to me. I want her to be safe! Maybe I'll suggest flying out and renting a car and doing a rode trip with her! That would curb my fears and will also be fun! The journal block comes from their September Kit . Unity Stamp Company is featuring a sale on their previous Kits! This is the time to get them if you don't have ENOUGH! See their sales here: Sales at Unity The inside pages were not made with a KOM stamp, but this stamp is cool all the same. I love this flower . It's big and has many uses! To start at the beginning of the blog hop, ...
