On My Mind

Little things make me smile. Today I smiled because I got to create a project that involves two passions:  jewelry and paper crafting.  I was commissioned to create a jewelry tool for a client. Unfortunately, I was in such a hurry to get it over to her that I forgot to snap a photo of it prior to "locking" in this little package.  So, we'll just concentrate on the package.

It was really simple.  3 x 3.75 inches.  I scored every 7/8" on the longer side and created a little pentagon package that is fixed on each end with a 5 petal flower punch.  In the center, I punched a little hole where I strung twine that I purchased from another chick, on her ETSY site.

Then, of course, the sentiment, which is, of course, from Unity.  I love these new sentiment sets, because I'm ALWAYS looking for a good sentiment to use and these sets put them together for me. This one is from the {...my thoughts are with you} set and is perfect for what I wanted.

OK.  WELL, my other passion is photography and THIS is the time of year to take pictures.  So, on an adventure with my little garden gnomes (Oliver and Layla), we made sure the camera went along to capture these little hints of the earth renewed..that unfortunately wither all too quickly.

AND FINALLY, my little garden gnome.  He was such a good little gnome, posing so nicely.  Layla even watched him and wanted in on the action!

Inspirational Unity Blog Hop

I have three huge passions related to art: photography, jewelry making, and paper crafts. Above combines two of those passions: jewelry making and paper crafts. The necklace featured is a gift for a friend. I used Unity Stamp Company stamps in all the projects shown in the picture above. If you look closely, you'll even see that I used the Hawaiian Border and the swirls in the lambs fleece of Love Ewe to make the bronze charms in the jewelry above! Besides the stamps used, other materials included Bronz Clay, antiqued bronze findings, and various beads. Of course, what gift isn't complete without packaging? You can find the tutorial for the bag Here . Paper and cardstock, punches, and ribbon used are from Stampin Up! while the stamp used is from Unity's March Kit of the Month . People who know me know how I strive to use humor everyday...and especially to make light of otherwise stressful situations. So, my quote for the day has absolutely nothing to do with my project. I

Unity Blog Hop

My project today is a little mini album I put together to give to my daughter, who is exploring the possibility of traveling across America from Washington State to Delaware in July. I wanted to give her something to log and journal her adventures! I used stamps from Unity Stamp Company's June and November Kits of the Month for the cover. Inside the cover, I put a little note. She plans to hitch hike which is extremely bothersome to me. I want her to be safe! Maybe I'll suggest flying out and renting a car and doing a rode trip with her! That would curb my fears and will also be fun! The journal block comes from their September Kit . Unity Stamp Company is featuring a sale on their previous Kits! This is the time to get them if you don't have ENOUGH! See their sales here: Sales at Unity The inside pages were not made with a KOM stamp, but this stamp is cool all the same. I love this flower . It's big and has many uses! To start at the beginning of the blog hop,
