Pretty Pretty Package

Just thought I would share another project I made using some of the wonderful ribbon available from 3GirlJam!

I really had fun decorating this little package...and it's not even for a birthday!  I have this thing...even if  I make something pretty...it just feels SO MUCH MORE SPECIAL if it's in a nice package!  Don't you think?  I used several different Crinkle Ribbons and the all NEW Burlap Trim!

Here's a list (and links) to the ribbons if you are curious and want to make one too!

If you are visiting from the 3Girl Jam blog, you came here to see what's inside the package, yes?

I know you are wondering what's inside.

So, here it is:

I created this sweater when I was on vacation a few weeks ago visiting my daughter in Seattle.  I was working on the same design, but using a hand dyed brown wool, and she really loved it.

I talked her into trying something with more color and went and picked out the colors at a yarn store near her grandfather's.  I started it while visiting her grandfather.  It wasn't quite finished when I left to come back home.
And it's on it's way to her now.  I just know she'll be surprised about the packaging, but I hope she is even more thrilled about how the sweater turned out.

Anyway, it was just as much fun to package up and send as it was to make.

Thanks for stopping by and have yourself a great weekend!

Warm Little Sweetness

I must admit that I have become quite fond of making little bitty sweaters.   It all started on a recent trek to India traveling for business. I needed to carry just enough yarn to keep my busy bee hands occupied during the evenings in my hotel room. There are just so many hats a person can make, right?  Anyway, having limited quantities of yarn, I decided to give a small sweater a go.  This is the first one I created. I had just the perfect little buttons to add! (It really is amazing what one might find in their cosmetic bag) I love it.  This sweater is also featured on the Pinque Peacock blog   since I used her buttons.  (Go visit and see the buttons up close) This makes the sweater a really one of a kind project! This next one is perfect for a little preemie.  It's so tiny, but features a great big snowflake! Close up of the snowflake…. I also sewed on one of the StampinUp! Frosted Finishes Embellishments.  I think it finished it off nice

Inspirational Unity Blog Hop

I have three huge passions related to art: photography, jewelry making, and paper crafts. Above combines two of those passions: jewelry making and paper crafts. The necklace featured is a gift for a friend. I used Unity Stamp Company stamps in all the projects shown in the picture above. If you look closely, you'll even see that I used the Hawaiian Border and the swirls in the lambs fleece of Love Ewe to make the bronze charms in the jewelry above! Besides the stamps used, other materials included Bronz Clay, antiqued bronze findings, and various beads. Of course, what gift isn't complete without packaging? You can find the tutorial for the bag Here . Paper and cardstock, punches, and ribbon used are from Stampin Up! while the stamp used is from Unity's March Kit of the Month . People who know me know how I strive to use humor everyday...and especially to make light of otherwise stressful situations. So, my quote for the day has absolutely nothing to do with my project. I
