Wooo-Hooo Hop-a-Long and a Boy Card!

Today I'm participating in a Cross Promotional Blog Hop between 3GirlJam and Creative Inspirations Paint!
If you've been playing along, you should have come to me from Emily's blog!

And if you just happened to be visiting me, well, Hi! But you'll want to start at the beginning to see all the wonderful projects we've put together for you today.

To start at the beginning:

I've been playing with these paints for a bit now and if you have seen some of my project over the last week or so, you'll see some of the paints in all of them.

My project is a boy project - somewhat difficult for me to do.

Funny thing, tho, my husband looked at it after I said it was a boy card and he said, "Well, it's got a fancy sports car on it...That is something I can see you enjoying!"

I laughed, but it's true.  I'm a sucker for a fast and loud car.

Well, a little about the project.  My goal is Clean and Simple and BOY-ish.  Did it work?  And...I have been on a watercolor kick lately, which is grand considering I think the Creative Inspirations Paints work very well with watercoloring.

I used the wonderful 3GirlJam Crinkle Ribbon behind the main image.  It's from two different bundles:

I also used a few different paints on the card.
On the embossed yellow card stock behind the main image, I covered it with "Sunshine".  It gives it such a nice twinkle!

On the punched stars, I used "Blue Ice".  This is going on lots of holiday cards this year!
I also used this same paint over BIG. It really makes the word look like that wonderful metallic blue paint that has the little bitty sparkles in it....you know like some of those hopped up street cars that the "cool" boys drive.

I really enjoyed this.  It was a good personal challenge for me, because I'm good with the frills and girly girl stuff, but find it difficult to make a boyish card (that doesn't include brown!)

I hope you liked it too!

So, there's a couple specials going on with this hop that I want you to be aware of (and participate in!).

Baker John

Totally scrumptious, this bread. John is home from college right now and in-between hours of aimless gaming, he must be thinking of good food. He trolled my cookbook case and pulled a very old Italian bread cookbook out and VOILA....filled our house with the wonderful aroma of rosemary. His first loaf.

Big Birthday Celebration

Are you here having fun hopping along with 3GirlJAM in celebration of Julie's sister's big birthday year?  What a great little cyber party we're having!  (she's really a young thing, but she's having a great year) Well, if not, you should be hopping along (I'll tell you why in a moment). There are some really wonderful birthday ideas from all of us on the design team...and including Julie's two girls, who are also having fun celebrating their aunt's birthday. If you need to go back to the beginning, head over to the 3GirlJAM blog to get started.  Otherwise.... Here's my card in celebration her special year! I used blue crinkle ribbon from the newly released  Red,White,Blue Bundle.   It's such a nice shade of blue!  The white has bits of the red and blue in it (and I love the ribbon when it's like that)...and the red is also pretty awesome...like marachino cherries.  The little button in the center is from Pinque Peacock (l

Stylish Gift Bag

Today I have the above project featured over on the Pinque Peacock blog.   (go visit!) I love how it turned out.  It is a relatively simple design, but is sturdy and large enough to hold a nice size gift.  I put handmade soaps in it and I don't think it will have any trouble holding up under the weight! Anyway, hope you like it!  Let me know if you'd like a tutorial and I'll get my busy little hands to work! In the meantime, enjoy your holiday.  We are supposed to have some pretty heavy storms, but today, so far, it is nice enough (SUPER hot and humid, but very few clouds).
