Growing in Unity - Day 4 {Blustery}

Phew! It looks like I am going to make it!  Through my first week back at work...HA!  I've spent most of this first week staring at workflow diagrams trying to remember what I was supposed to be up to.  Oh, and missing my sweet little babies, who were shut in at home with far too much energy.

Todays project is a couple of tags that I whipped up.  So, on the left, I was suffering the recent snow we had this past weekend.  And on the right, I'm dreaming of Jupiter Beach in Florida, where the sea turtles winter.  I'd like to be on the beach, soaking up heat and sun, letting the sand warm my toes.

The stamps I used on the left tag include:

Mitten Weather Icons
Mitten Weather Flourishes
Snowflake Kisses
Snowglobe Wonderland

The right tag used far fewer stamp sets!  Only one, in fact:

Under the Sea

Only one more day, my friends, and we can say adios to the first week of 2013!  How is your first week of 2013 shaping up?

I'm sure it will be even BETTER if you were to win a couple itty bitty stamps from Unity, right?  So, be sure to leave me a comment so you have a chance!

REBECCA, both of your Tags are really cute. I love the coloring that you did. The snowman looks as if he's waving good-bye for the winter...at least thats what I'm praying for. Cute work. TFS

I love making tags because you can make a design in no time. These are fabulous and fun! Great background, did you use Distress inks or paint?

Great tags! Can I join you on the beach? I've never seen a sea turtle in the wild, but would LOVE to! I want details on the backgrounds of your tags. What did you use?

What a great idea... for every wintry creation, a hot-weather one! I may have to adopt that. :P Love the gorgeous backgrounds you've created, too.

I'm fascinated with the way you've created a winter scene as well as a summer scene with the same fabulous color scheme! With the brutal cold temps here in PA today, I'll dream of Jupiter Beach FL with sand warming my toes too! Great tags! Happy New Year too!

My Rising Sign

Your Rising Sign is Taurus

You are the ultimate rock - stable and centered.
People turn to you in crisis and count on you for calm.
Stubborn and strong minded, you can't be pushed around.
You are also tenacious, and you always will stick with something difficult.
A bit fan of nature, you're attracted to the beauty of the outdoors.
And sometimes, you find it easier to relate to animals than people.

What's Your Rising Sign?

Well, okay, I don't know about stable.
And surely, my husband, at least, would argue about coming to me for "calm".

But the rest, yeah.

Inspirational Unity Blog Hop

I have three huge passions related to art: photography, jewelry making, and paper crafts.

Above combines two of those passions: jewelry making and paper crafts. The necklace featured is a gift for a friend.

I used Unity Stamp Company stamps in all the projects shown in the picture above. If you look closely, you'll even see that I used the Hawaiian Border and the swirls in the lambs fleece of Love Ewe to make the bronze charms in the jewelry above!

Besides the stamps used, other materials included Bronz Clay, antiqued bronze findings, and various beads.

Of course, what gift isn't complete without packaging?

You can find the tutorial for the bag Here.
Paper and cardstock, punches, and ribbon used are from Stampin Up! while the stamp used is from Unity's March Kit of the Month.

People who know me know how I strive to use humor everyday...and especially to make light of otherwise stressful situations. So, my quote for the day has absolutely nothing to do with my project. It's …
