Party Challenge and my Sweet Treat

Here is a simple, but elegant treat I put together in anticipation of the 3GirlJam Challenge....that STARTS today!

Since February will be here before I blink, I've been thinking back to all those school valentine parties that I used to have when I was a child...and then those my daughter had in elementary school.  She really stressed about making sure that she brought in the ABSOLUTE best valentines and gifties that she could talk me into.  I don't really remember the pressure when I was a child, but I believe my daughter either invented her own perfection and pressure OR there was this overhanging competitive nature in even the smallest gestures that I either never paid attention to...OR it didn't exist. (Now, how was THAT for a run-on sentence!)

Anyway, I also think the recent visit to 3GirlJam's store ALSO got me thinking about it all, because they have introduced the NEXT iteration of buttons in their store that I just had to use on this simple treat. ...right in time for all those treats and cards you need to make for whatever Valentine's Day party your child is attending!

And right now, they are on sale.  There are two sets of buttons.  You can even order in bulk for MORE savings.  And if you have any questions, I'm sure that Mrs. Bling herself (Julie) will be happy to help.

More about the Challenge

The challenge that starts today should be easy peasy to participate in...the theme is:

Warm Little Sweetness

I must admit that I have become quite fond of making little bitty sweaters.   It all started on a recent trek to India traveling for business. I needed to carry just enough yarn to keep my busy bee hands occupied during the evenings in my hotel room. There are just so many hats a person can make, right?  Anyway, having limited quantities of yarn, I decided to give a small sweater a go.  This is the first one I created. I had just the perfect little buttons to add! (It really is amazing what one might find in their cosmetic bag) I love it.  This sweater is also featured on the Pinque Peacock blog   since I used her buttons.  (Go visit and see the buttons up close) This makes the sweater a really one of a kind project! This next one is perfect for a little preemie.  It's so tiny, but features a great big snowflake! Close up of the snowflake…. I also sewed on one of the StampinUp! Frosted Finishes Embellishments.  I think it finished it off nice

Inspirational Unity Blog Hop

I have three huge passions related to art: photography, jewelry making, and paper crafts. Above combines two of those passions: jewelry making and paper crafts. The necklace featured is a gift for a friend. I used Unity Stamp Company stamps in all the projects shown in the picture above. If you look closely, you'll even see that I used the Hawaiian Border and the swirls in the lambs fleece of Love Ewe to make the bronze charms in the jewelry above! Besides the stamps used, other materials included Bronz Clay, antiqued bronze findings, and various beads. Of course, what gift isn't complete without packaging? You can find the tutorial for the bag Here . Paper and cardstock, punches, and ribbon used are from Stampin Up! while the stamp used is from Unity's March Kit of the Month . People who know me know how I strive to use humor everyday...and especially to make light of otherwise stressful situations. So, my quote for the day has absolutely nothing to do with my project. I
