Spa Day

This is a Spa Day Gift set that is headed it's way to Canada! It includes Soap, Salts, Essential Oils, Candles, and a Washing Mitt (not pictured).

I have one additional item to add to the package, but I'll give you more information on that tomorrow (because it's just not finished).

This was a busy weekend. Yesterday, I caught up with my dear friend, Ann, and her family. I just love spending time with her. I don't know how to describe her, except to say that she makes me smile and laugh at so many struggles that we, as mothers and women, struggle with. My kids are all adults, but her kids are still quite young. To spend time with her, her husband (what a great guy!), and her children (her daughter, Eva, is just simply delightful, and her son, Drew, such a little prince) is like taking my life and putting it in rewind, but adding in bright sunshine and posies.

Ann and I participated in an awareness, fund raising walk for brain cancer awareness, because of our friend, Jami, who unfortunately succumbed on Friday. After the walk, I went back to their house and was introduced to Wii Fit by Eva, who beat me running around the island and demonstrated several yoga poses to me.

Then Ann showed me some of Drew's and Eva's artwork that she framed. It is so amazing to look at art created by children and see their uninhibited, raw creativity!

Today was my husband's 50th birthday. His parents came over and we had rib-eye steak, rosemary and garlic potatoes, and salad. And since my old man is watching his weight (like he needs to!), we had Jack's special low fat, high fiber, muffins topped with cream cheese frosting for his birthday cake!

You're a great friend, Rebecca. What nice things you said about me and my family. I couldn't help bragging about what an amazing artist and creative bee you are to all who would listen. My big brained friend (yes, she is MY friend and I'm proud of it) made some great looking spa items. Did you burn the midnight oil on Saturday? The bran muffins looked yummy (I hope they do the trick, wink wink) and that Dave doesn't feel a day over 49! Let's do lunch and so I can return your camera AND socks. I'll wash them before I see you again -- promise. :-) I'm a big fan of the blog and I'm looking forward to Wednesday. Don't forget to send me the link!

Warm Little Sweetness

I must admit that I have become quite fond of making little bitty sweaters.   It all started on a recent trek to India traveling for business. I needed to carry just enough yarn to keep my busy bee hands occupied during the evenings in my hotel room. There are just so many hats a person can make, right?  Anyway, having limited quantities of yarn, I decided to give a small sweater a go.  This is the first one I created. I had just the perfect little buttons to add! (It really is amazing what one might find in their cosmetic bag) I love it.  This sweater is also featured on the Pinque Peacock blog   since I used her buttons.  (Go visit and see the buttons up close) This makes the sweater a really one of a kind project! This next one is perfect for a little preemie.  It's so tiny, but features a great big snowflake! Close up of the snowflake…. I also sewed on one of the StampinUp! Frosted Finishes Embellishments.  I think it finished it off nice

Inspirational Unity Blog Hop

I have three huge passions related to art: photography, jewelry making, and paper crafts. Above combines two of those passions: jewelry making and paper crafts. The necklace featured is a gift for a friend. I used Unity Stamp Company stamps in all the projects shown in the picture above. If you look closely, you'll even see that I used the Hawaiian Border and the swirls in the lambs fleece of Love Ewe to make the bronze charms in the jewelry above! Besides the stamps used, other materials included Bronz Clay, antiqued bronze findings, and various beads. Of course, what gift isn't complete without packaging? You can find the tutorial for the bag Here . Paper and cardstock, punches, and ribbon used are from Stampin Up! while the stamp used is from Unity's March Kit of the Month . People who know me know how I strive to use humor everyday...and especially to make light of otherwise stressful situations. So, my quote for the day has absolutely nothing to do with my project. I
