Blizzard Dig Out

As a full sized adult, have you ever stepped in snow that came up over your knees? Well, it was a first for me!

After getting blasted last week with over 2 feet of show, we received another similar snowfall only 4 days later. We've now broken the record of the most snowfall since they began recording snowfall in 1885. Pretty cool, eh?

The last record snowfall was in 1995. I remember it well, because it was the most snow I'd ever seen in my entire life. Being from the south, we rarely experienced white stuff and I remember being impressed and bewildered about what to do. My dogs were perplexed as well. I wonder if Clyde remembers. Because he was about two years old at the time.

Anyway, here's a few snapshots I took with my pocket camera as we were trying to keep up with the digging.

It was still snowing while we were digging. And after we were done, we strolled down the lane. Snow was blowing towards our back on the way down the lane...but on the way back, it was an icy sting right onto our faces.

In order to get the shots, I couldn't use the flash and it was near dark when we decided we better start. (We were hoping it would stop first)

Here's a shot using the flash. It reminded me of the chicken house last year when I forgot to turn off the flash and realized all the YUK in the air....BUT this was a much nicer to experience.

I have more pictures to show. I'm having such a hard time keeping up with all I need to do. Too many balls in the air! One or two of them being SNOWBALLS.

Wow - thanks for sharing about all that snow! I've never seen more than about an inch or two of snow on the ground (and we had to drive up for the weekend to even see that!)

I like the snowflake shot -- sometimes flash is a good thing!

Inspirational Unity Blog Hop

I have three huge passions related to art: photography, jewelry making, and paper crafts. Above combines two of those passions: jewelry making and paper crafts. The necklace featured is a gift for a friend. I used Unity Stamp Company stamps in all the projects shown in the picture above. If you look closely, you'll even see that I used the Hawaiian Border and the swirls in the lambs fleece of Love Ewe to make the bronze charms in the jewelry above! Besides the stamps used, other materials included Bronz Clay, antiqued bronze findings, and various beads. Of course, what gift isn't complete without packaging? You can find the tutorial for the bag Here . Paper and cardstock, punches, and ribbon used are from Stampin Up! while the stamp used is from Unity's March Kit of the Month . People who know me know how I strive to use humor everyday...and especially to make light of otherwise stressful situations. So, my quote for the day has absolutely nothing to do with my project. Unity Blog Hop

My project today is a little mini album I put together to give to my daughter, who is exploring the possibility of traveling across America from Washington State to Delaware in July. I wanted to give her something to log and journal her adventures! I used stamps from Unity Stamp Company's June and November Kits of the Month for the cover. Inside the cover, I put a little note. She plans to hitch hike which is extremely bothersome to me. I want her to be safe! Maybe I'll suggest flying out and renting a car and doing a rode trip with her! That would curb my fears and will also be fun! The journal block comes from their September Kit . Unity Stamp Company is featuring a sale on their previous Kits! This is the time to get them if you don't have ENOUGH! See their sales here: Sales at Unity The inside pages were not made with a KOM stamp, but this stamp is cool all the same. I love this flower . It's big and has many uses! To start at the beginning of the blog hop, ...
