Well, it's official. We're tumbling towards short days and long nights! My husband and I were whining earlier this week about just that. As outdoor blokes (well, he's the bloke, I'm the fancy gal), we really enjoy warmer weather. So, while it was nice to have an extra hour of sleep, that only means that it gets darker one entire hour earlier, which makes our evening jogs much harder to achieve....actually almost impossible with our work schedules.
Poo.
It's a good thing there is at least one consolation when the winds blow a little cooler...the trees!
Inspired by the walk I took with my little babies the other day and all the beautiful colors I've seen whilst clogging back and forth from work, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with this stamp when I saw it. It was a bit tedious cutting out all the little pieces, but when I finished it up, it was definitely well worth it! Do you agree?
The little leaves are some punched sand colored card stock that I painted with watercolors. The shimmery colors are Creative Inspirations Paint...I told you it was a new addiction!
My babies, on our walk earlier this week. And lookey there, Oliver is walking!
I have a confession....I actually believe that the hike we did in October on the AT was good for both myself and Oliver. I don't know if I mentioned much on here before, but Oliver is a bit lazy when it comes to walking. That, and I'm an easy fool for his sweet face. That said, he has been successfully able to convince me carry him all summer. He wags that little tail and muster up the sweetest, most manipulative face, and I go all mushy and pick him up and carry him. Pitiful, yes? But that was impossible on the hike. I created that fancy carrier, but didn't have to use it very much (which was a relief I must add). He walked practically the entire hike. The first day was a bit rough on both of us. He tried his little antics, but I mustered up all my motherly courage and wouldn't fold. And it worked. I learned and so did he.
WELL, I sort of miss our sweet little connection, but it's for the best. He is having so much fun walking and listening for squirrels (and any other critter he wants to chase). And I think Layla is enjoying our walks more also. Because she has a mate to explore the woods with.
Now...I just need to stay strong.
